Assigning apps from the Private Store

To assign apps from the private store, use the following procedure:

1. Sign in to Microsoft Store for Business and select Manage from the menu bar.
2. In the navigation pane, select Products & Services.
3. Locate and select the app that you want to assign.
4. On the Users tab, displayed in Figure 4-20, click Assign to Users.

5. Select one or more users, as displayed in Figure 4-21, and then click Assign.

6. When the process is complete, click Close. You can also click Download Results to view a CSV file detailing the assignments.
7. On the preceding screen, you should now see that the license count has increased by the number of assignments made.

Use Intune to Distribute the app

To distribute an app with Intune, use the following procedure:

1. Sign in to Microsoft Store for Business and obtain the desired app.
2. Sign in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center and select Tenant Administration in the navigation pane.
3. Select Connectors and tokens, and then select Microsoft Store for Business.
4. Select the Open The Business Store link.
5. In Microsoft Store for Business, select Manage, select Settings, and then select the Distribute tab.
6. Scroll down, and under Management tools next to Microsoft Intune, select Activate (displayed in Figure 4-22). You might need to wait a while until you can see the link.

7. Switch back to Intune and select Save. Refresh the page.
8. Click Sync, as displayed in Figure 4-23.

9. Depending on the number of apps, this might take some time. When the process is complete, select the Apps node. Your store apps should be listed, as displayed in Figure 4-24.

10. You must now assign the app(s) in the usual way. Select the app, click Assignments, and then define to which users/devices the app will be deployed. This process was described in “Add a Microsoft store app,” earlier in this chapter.
